Fingering Weight Recycled Cashmere Yarn in Nautical Blue

100% cashmere yarn, carefully reclaimed from a discarded women’s sweater.  This yarn is made up of two fine 2-ply strands held together, and is a light fingering or heavy lace weight yarn.  The color is a very nautical dark blue.

This sweater yielded four skeins:

• 410 yards / 375 meters, 2.3 ounces / 65 grams, no knots
• 360 yards / 329 meters, 2.0 ounces / 57 grams, 2 knots
• 330 yards / 302 meters, 1.9 ounces / 52 grams, no knots
• 250 yards / 229 meters, 1.4 ounces / 40 grams, no knots

Cashmere is light, warm, soft, and surprisingly durable. Handwash in lukewarm water with a wool-safe detergent (or a squirt of shampoo and a dab of conditioner), and dry flat.
