Bulky Weight Recycled Cashmere Yarn in Deep Purple

100% cashmere yarn, carefully reclaimed from a discarded women’s sweater.  The color is a dark, moody purple, that looks like a dark grape purple in cooler light, and a deep plum in warmer light.  This yarn is just barely a bulky weight at 7 wraps per inch, but might also work for patterns that call for aran weight yarn. It’s deliciously soft and pettable. Treat yourself!

This sweater yielded five skeins:

• 210 yards / 192 meters, 3.6 ounces / 103 grams, no knots
• 190 yards / 174 meters, 3.2 ounces / 91 grams, 2 knots
• 180 yards / 165 meters, 3.1 ounces / 88 grams, 1 knot
• 160 yards / 146 meters, 2.8 ounces / 78 grams, 1 knot

Cashmere is light, warm, soft, and surprisingly durable. Handwash in lukewarm water with a wool-safe detergent (or a squirt of shampoo and a dab of conditioner), and dry flat.
